GP3 racer Jimmy Eriksson will drive for Formula 3 European Championship team Ma-con at this week's official test at Hockenheim.
The 22-year-old Swede, who races for Status GP in GP3, won last year's German F3 title, but has not raced in the category since the 2012 Macau Grand Prix.
He takes over the Dallara-Volkswagen that has been raced so far this year by Sven Muller, but which is now vacant following the German's recent switch to rival squad Van Amersfoort Racing.
A spokesperson for Eriksson told AUTOSPORT that his deal does not currently extend beyond the test, but that there existed the possibility it could be increased to include any of the last three rounds of the series.
Eriksson is the second Swedish addition to the Hockenheim testing line-up. Fortec announced on Monday that John Bryant-Meisner would drive on both days alongside Felix Serralles and Pipo Derani.
The test takes place on Wednesday and Thursday.
