James Kaye will miss this weekend's British Touring Car Championship round at Knockhill after aggravating a knee injury since the last round at Snetterton.
Kaye, who drives an S2000-spec Honda Civic for AmD Tuning in the Jack Sears Trophy, lies third in the class standings.
AmD team boss Shaun Hollamby said that the team would not be replacing Kaye, who switched from Volkswagen Golf machinery to the Honda mid-season.
"I'm sorry to say we are not going to be at Knockhill this weekend due to James twisting a ligament in his knee," said Hollamby.
"This is an old injury, but has blown up like a balloon since Snetterton. Rest assured, all should be well by Rockingham."
BTCC veteran Kaye, 49, won the independents' title in 1992 and '94, and returned to the series this year in his first full-time campaign since 2006.
