Sam Bird has lost his front row qualifying position for Saturday's GP2 race at the Hungaroring after picking up a three-place grid penalty.
The Russian Time driver was penalised for impeding Caterham's Sergio Canamasas as the pair drove through the first corner at the Hungaroring during qualifying.
Bird's penalty promotes Racing Engineering's Fabio Leimer to second, Carlin's Felipe Nasr to third and Marcus Ericsson of DAMS to fourth, with Bird now fifth.
"Very disappointed with the penalty but we are still in an OK position for tomorrow," Bird told AUTOSPORT.
"The car felt very good - in fact the best it's felt all year."
The stewards also investigated Canamasas over the incident, but decide no penalty was necessary.
The Spaniard was 24th fastest.
