ERC Romania: Jan Kopecky inherits Sibiu Rally lead

Jan Kopecky was elevated into the Sibiu Rally lead as both Francois Delecour and Bryan Bouffier struck trouble on Friday afternoon in Romania.
European Rally Championship leader Kopecky had earlier lost 10 seconds to the two Peugeots when his Skoda had power steering issues.
Kopecky had barely begun his recovery bid before he found himself in first place following a dramatic second run through the Crint stage.
Leader Bouffier stopped and retired early on with broken suspension on his Delta Peugeot, and then Francois Delecour lost half a minute when his Munaretto 207 began to overheat.
By the end of the following superspecial, Kopecky's advantage over Bouffier stood at 23.7 seconds, with the rest of the pack three minutes adrift.
Toshi Arai had held third for a while, but his Subaru became stuck in fourth gear. That dropped him to sixth as local driver Edwin Keleti moved into a provisional podium spot.
The rally continues with two night stages on Friday evening, starting from 9.48pm local time.
