Dani Pedrosa should be fit to compete in MotoGP Laguna Seca race

Dani Pedrosa MotoGP 2013Dani Pedrosa should be able to compete in the Laguna Seca MotoGP race this weekend after his injury at the Sachsenring last Saturday.

The after-effects of a huge practice crash prevented Pedrosa from contesting the German Grand Prix, in which his victorious Honda team-mate Marc Marquez assumed the championship lead.

Although Pedrosa sustained a collarbone fracture in the accident, the primary factor in his absence was a concussion, with dizziness and low blood pressure ruling him out on race morning.

Pedrosa will stay in Barcelona for an extra day of physiotherapy before travelling to America on Thursday.

"After a disappointing weekend in Germany, I'm happy to be feeling better again and thankful that my shoulder wasn't completely broken, even if a fracture is still not the best thing to happen," he said.

"Now I need to get back on track to see what condition I'm in and hope we can have a good weekend."

With Jorge Lorenzo also sitting out the Sachsenring race, Marquez heads the championship by two points over Pedrosa and 11 over the Yamaha rider, who also intends to race at Laguna despite his injuries.
