Emerging sportscar star Mike Conway will make his American Le Mans Series debut in Canada this weekend in place of the injured Ryan Briscoe at the Level 5 HPD team.
Conway, who has impressed in his three LMP2 outings with the G-Drive/Delta-ADR squad in the World Endurance Championship so far this year, will replace Briscoe alongside team owner Scott Tucker at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (formerly Mosport).
Briscoe's injury and subsequent surgery, sustained in the first of the two races at last weekend's Toronto IndyCar event, has ruled him out of this weekend's race aboard the #552 HPD ARX-03b.
He is however scheduled to be fit in time for the following ALMS round at Road America on August 9.
Level 5 team manager Dave Stone said: "Scott and I have had our eye on Mike for a while now, and with him already in Canada for the IndyCar race [driving for Dale Coyne Racing], it worked out perfectly.
"He has been extremely quick in the WEC and we look forward to him joining the team this weekend."
Conway said: "It's a great opportunity to drive for Level 5 Motorsports. They are a great team and have already had some successes this year."
