Aston Martin, Silverstone Blancpain 2013Aston Martin Racing driver Frederic Makowiecki claimed pole position for Sunday's Silverstone round of the Blancpain Endurance Series.

Makowiecki, who is sharing the factory-run Aston Martin V12 Vantage with Darren Turner and Stefan Mucke, took the pole with a 2m01.140s laps set in the second of the three 15-minute qualifying sessions.

That time was just four one hundredths quicker than Alex Buncombe went in the fastest of the RJN Nissan GT-Rs in the third session.

Buncombe, who shares with Lucas Ordonez and Peter Pyzera, was fastest in the Pro-Am class and British GT regular and AMR team principal John Gaw was quickest in the Gentlemen Trophy in his Aston.
