Lorenzo says he will not change approach for Marquez

Lorenzo will not change for MarquezJorge Lorenzo insists he will not change his approach in order to deal with the emerging threat of Honda's Marc Marquez.

The Honda rider became the youngest winner in the sport's history when he triumphed at Austin in what was only his second race in the premier class.

While Lorenzo hailed Marquez's phenomenal pace, he said he decided not to take too many risks chasing the Hondas in Texas - a mentality he insists he will maintain.

Asked if he would consider changing his approach, Lorenzo said: "No. Sometimes you feel better, more strong; sometimes you feel less so.

"In this situation it's better to have a cool head and finish in the position you have to.

"With a lot of risk I probably [could have fought] with Dani [Pedrosa] in the last two corners, but also I have a 50 per cent probability of crashing.

"It's not enough to [justify] the risk."

Lorenzo, who won in only his third MotoGP race but went on to suffer seven crashes in seven races, warned that experience could temper Marquez's natural attacking instincts.

"When you are 20 years old and a rookie in MotoGP you see things in a different way," he said.

"You have a lot of anger to demonstrate and you are not afraid to crash.

"When you get a little bit older you start to become more conscious about all the risks."
