British Touring Car racer Andy Neate's new Chevrolet Cruze will not make its debut until the Oulton Park round in June.
The former works MG driver set up his own IP Tech Race Engineering team to run a new NGTC Cruze for this season.
The squad, which will run under the Team Club 44 banner, had planned to appear at the Donington Park round this weekend, after a testing programme.
But delays in completing the car mean testing has not begun and the team has decided to delay Neate's debut in it until Oulton Park.
"Circumstances beyond our control have conspired against us," said Neate. "It's meant that we weren't able to get on track to complete the running we had planned prior to Donington.
"I've been in the position before where I've gone into a race weekend with a car that I hadn't had the chance to gel with properly, and it isn't something I want to do again."
Neate hopes the delay will help the Cruze be more competitive when it does appear.
"The whole aim in creating IP Tech Race Engineering is to build a team that is capable of challenging towards the front end of the field," he added.
