Chris Dyson joins Greaves for World Endurance Championship rounds

The 35-year-old American, who won the ALMS title with the Dyson Racing team in 2011, will drive the Greaves Motorsport squad's Zytek-Nissan Z11SN at Silverstone later this month and then at Spa in May.

The team boss of Dyson Racing in the US will share the car with his protege Michael Marsal and Greaves regular Tom Kimber-Smith in both races.

Dyson and Marsal will also contest, by way of preparation, the opening round of the European Le Mans Series at Silverstone the day before the WEC race.

"It's been a while since I've raced in Europe and I'm looking forwards to doing Silverstone again and finally racing at Spa," said Dyson, whose last European start was the 2009 Le Mans 24 Hours.

"It came about because Michael, who I regard as my protege, expressed an interest in doing some blue-riband events in Europe. We started talking to some teams and Greaves came up with a very good offer."

Dyson explained that 24-year-old Marsal, who raced one of his Lola-Mazda prototypes in a programme of ALMS events last year, is looking at increasing his profile in Europe.

The American pair will not contest the Le Mans 24 Hours because the seats in Greaves' two Zyteks are already taken, but Marsal will return to the team for the WEC round at Austin later in the year.

Team owner Tim Greaves explained that he will field two Zyteks in the US WEC round and potentially more world championship events in the second half of the season.

Greaves is also exploring running one of its Zytek in a short programme of ALMS events around Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta.

The team is not expecting to contest any further rounds of the ELMS after Silverstone.

"I don't believe that we will do any of the remaining races; the phone is not ringing," said Greaves.
