Robert Kubica seeded fifth for ERC debut

Rumours of Kubica secretly testing cars were rife throughout his recoveryRobert Kubica has been seeded at car five for his debut in the European Rally Championship, next week's Canaries Rally.

The grand prix winner will be co-driven aboard his Citroen by fellow Pole and experienced navigator Maciek Baran. This will be the pair's first outing together.

Starting ahead of Kubica's Citroen will be last year's winner Jan Kopecky, whose factory specification Skoda Fabia S2000 runs at car one.

Solberg: Why Kubica will star in rallying

There are five different makes in the top five for the third round of the ERC, with Irishman Craig Breen's Peugeot 207 second on the road, Daniel Oliveira's Ford Fiesta RRC behind him and local star Luis Monzon's Mini RRC just ahead of Kubica.

Thirty international entries have been received for the event, 17 of which are ERC regulars. The event starts with a ceremonial start in Las Palmas on Thursday March 21.

The first of 14 stages runs the following morning, with the event finishing on Saturday afternoon.
