Timo Glock placed with new MTEK BMW team for DTM debut

Timo GlockFormula 1 refugee Timo Glock will race for BMW's new MTEK squad in the DTM this year.

Glock, who joined BMW's line-up within a week of losing his F1 seat with Marussia, will partner fellow series rookie Marco Wittmann, who is being promoted from the test-driver role he held last year.

Ernest Knoors' new Munich-based outfit ran Glock in his maiden DTM test at Valencia last month.

"With BMW Team MTEK, we will have even more strength in numbers in the future, which can only be advantageous in such a close series as the DTM," said BMW motorsport director Jens Marquardt.

"There are obviously some operational challenges when it comes to integrating a new team into an existing structure. However, we are confident we have done just that.

"Timo Glock and Marco Wittmann are also new to the DTM. Together with BMW Team MTEK, we will give them the time they need to gradually find their feet in this series."

Schnitzer Motorsport, which won last year's teams' title, will once again run drivers' champion Bruno Spengler and Dirk Werner.

There is a change of scenery for Andy Priaulx. He leaves the RBM team with which he won his European and World Touring Car Championship crowns and moves across to RMG to partner 2011 DTM champion Martin Tomczyk.

American Joey Hand moves the other way and joins Augusto Farfus at RBM.
