Zanardi happy with CART Sebring test

Alex Zanardi emerged from a two day test at Sebring with Mo Nunn Racing enthused about racing again. Howeverm the Italian, who had a wretched season in 1999 with Williams in Formula 1, dismissed suggestions thatmay race in this weekend's CART race at Toronto

"I'm having a lot of fun," said Zanardi. "The passion hasn't gone. It's nice to find such a nice car to come back to after a period of vacation. I call it a vacation because it was my decision not to engage myself in any other thing after the Williams period.

"There are lot of people out there who can't wait to see me back at a race," continued Zanardi. "They kind of hoped that would happen in Toronto, since I'm here driving this test for Morris. But that was not the spirit of this test, certainly. If I wanted to drive, I didn't have to wait for Tony (Kanaan), who is a dear friend of mine, to get hurt.

Zanardi, a former champion with Ganassi racing, was re-united with his engineer Mo Nunn, in his new team.

"It's really good to be back. I'm amazed - although the circuit today is really green and we haven't got to the point yet where I can say I'm happy with the car the way it's set up - by how much grip this car has in the corners compared to Formula 1 car with those grooved tires. This is a car you can play with. Maybe I went over the line already... I spun three times. I have no reason in the world that I should be pushing over the limit, but how else can you explain that I spun three times already other than that I'm having fun?

"It was good to drive the car again, to take some rust out of my muscles. I really enjoyed it. I'm glad that we made some progress in different areas, and Morris was happy because he thought he wanted to get my feedback, and it was good."
