Frontrunning Superstars team Solaris will enter a Chevrolet Camaro in the 2013 series, with an eye to persuading Chevy to launch a works Superstars programme.
Solaris ran a Chevrolet Lumina last year, winning at Mugello with Francesco Sini.
Sini will stay on to race the Camaro this season.
"By lining-up such a new model, our goal is to score some serious outright success and persuade Chevrolet to commit to a manufacturer-supported Superstars programme," he said.
Solaris also intends to run its Lumina for GT racer Florian Renauer, a 19-year-old from Austria.
A second Camaro could be ready for the final rounds of the championship.
