Prodrive has sold its V8 Supercar operation Ford Performance Racing.
The squad, which was one of only two teams to win races in the championship last season, has been bought by leading V8 figures Rod Nash and Rusty French.
"Rusty and I are pleased we've been able to acquire a business as strong as FPR, which is not only an icon of Australian sport, but one of this country's leading specialist engineering firms," said Nash, who ran a combined entry with FPR for David Reynolds last year.
"In the last few years I've watched FPR grow from strength to strength and to see so many talented people from so many different industries working together is a real credit to the entire team.
"We are making a long-term investment in a great local business which allows us to assist with developing all aspects of the team.
The FPR name will be retained and Tim Edwards will remain as team principal.
Drivers Mark Winterbottom and Will Davison will continue in the full FPR cars this year.
