Sauber won't hurry decision on Sergio Perez's replacement

Sergio Perez, Sauber, Singapore 2012Peter Sauber says his team has no urgency to announce who will replace Sergio Perez from next year.

McLaren announced on Friday that the Mexican will be taking Lewis Hamilton's seat from 2013 after the British driver decided to move to Mercedes.

Despite speculation linking several drivers - including Michael Schumacher - to Sauber's seats, team boss Sauber said there will be no imminent announcements.

"We will announce them [our drivers] in due course," said Sauber in a statement.

Sauber also wished Perez the best in his stint at McLaren.

"Sergio has been given the opportunity to drive for McLaren, one of the most successful teams in the history of Formula 1. We wish him all the best for this move," said Sauber.

"Before he leaves, there are still six races to come in which we will give Sergio our utmost support with the aim of gaining as many points as possible."
