Rubens Barrichello will make a guest appearance in the finale of the Brazilian Stock Car Championship at Interlagos on December 9.
The IndyCar racer, who is also the most experienced driver in the history of Formula 1, accepted the offer to compete in the tin-top series on the condition of a substantial donation [230,000 Brazilian Real/£70,000] being made to a childrens' charity he runs with his IndyCar team-mate and close friend Tony Kanaan.
Barrichello will race for Full Time Sports, where one of his team-mates will be ex-GP2 racer Xandinho Negrao.
"I think I have watched every Stock Car race for a long time and knew that one day I would be there," said Barrichello, 40.
"When this invitation came, I put the possibility of making a donation to the IBK [Instituto Barrichello Kanaan].
"It was not a difficult decision to accept the call. The poor children have already won even before the race begins."
Barrichello is set to get his first test with the team's Peugeot 408 at Curitiba on October 15.
"My experience with these cars is only virtual," he added. "I got into the car and it feels completely different - I don't see the wheels!
"But this year I have already gone through a difficult adjustment in IndyCar, and I don't think that should be any different here.
"There are a few tests, then, for me, the focus is on the achievement of the Instituto and driving a Stock Car in front of the Brazilian public."
