Italian GP: Kimi Raikkonen counts on better race pace from Lotus

Kimi Raikkonen is keeping his fingers crossed that Lotus will have better pace in the race than it showed in qualifying - after ending up seventh on the grid for the Italian Grand Prix.
Just a week after challenging for victory at Spa, Lotus has not been as strong at the high-speed Monza venue and faces an uphill battle to move forward in the race.
"We just don't have the speed here, at least in qualifying, so the race will be different," explained Raikkonen. "It should be a bit closer but it is difficult to say.
"We knew it wouldn't be one of our strongest places but we are there more or less and tomorrow is a long race. It is not going to be easy."
Raikkonen is aware that Lotus is one of the fastest cars in terms of outright top speed, but thinks that the set-up characteristics of its rivals may mean that its straightline performance is not enough.
"We have the top speed but some cars pick up the top speed much faster than us," he said. "We have the DRS, and if we are close enough we can get good speed out of it - so hopefully here will be a bit more racing."
