Zandvoort DTM: Injured Mercedes man to leave hospital

Ralf Schumacher, Zandvoort pit incidentThe Mercedes team member most seriously injured in Ralf Schumacher's Zandvoort pit incident is set to be discharged from hospital later on Saturday.

Four members of the HWA pit crew were hospitalised after an incident with Schumacher's car during Friday practice. Although three were discharged that day, one remained in hospital overnight.

After qualifying Mercedes motorsport chief Norbert Haug said: "As you know we had four of our mechanics injured yesterday in practice.

"Three have been released from hospital and two of them have already flown home to Stuttgart. The other one is still in hospital, but will go home later.

"This is a big, big relief to us because our human beings are far more important than any trophies.

"All our guys will be fighting to get the best possible result for these guys tomorrow."
