Gordon Shedden loses British Touring Car Championship points lead with Snetterton exclusion

Gordon Shedden, Honda, Snetterton 2012Gordon Shedden has been excluded from third place in the final British Touring Car race at Snetterton.

Despite a fire and electrical problems during practice and qualifying, Shedden managed to score a seventh, a second and a third on the road in the three races to take the lead in the championship from Honda team-mate Matt Neal.

His NGTC Civic has now been found to have overboosted during the reversed-grid race and Shedden has been excluded from third.

The infringement promotes title rival Jason Plato's MG6 to third and means that reigning champion Neal takes back the lead in the drivers' standings.
