Asia-based Briton Richard Bradley has joined Carlin's Formula 3 line-up for this weekend's British and European Championship event at Spa-Francorchamps.
Bradley, who contested a one-off with the team at Pau last year, is racing the Dallara-Volkswagen normally driven by Will Buller, who is away at the Hungaroring this weekend competing in the clashing GP3 round.
Bradley is currently fourth in the All-Japan Formula 3 Championship, in which he is driving for TOM's. After living in Singapore for the past few years, he is now based in Hong Kong.
"Because it clashes with Will's GP3 commitments, Carlin had the seat available," he said. "It's interesting to come and do this but I'm not expecting any miracles.
"This car has a different engine to what I'm used to, different tyres, different gearbox, different everything! The deal only came together last Thursday night and it's been a rush to get here.
"I'd never seen Spa before, other than to drive it on my PlayStation, so I just used one set of tyres in the first free practice session because learning the circuit was the most important thing. This weekend is going to be so difficult, but I'll do my best."
Bradley is racing as an 'invitation' class runner, as he is not registered for British or FIA European points.
