GP3 Series racer Conor Daly is to make his Formula 3 debut in this weekend's Masters of F3 at Zandvoort.
Daly will race a Double R Racing Dallara-Mercedes, replacing team regular Fahmi Ilyas alongside Geoff Uhrhane for the non-championship event.
It means that the American will race in a category in which his father Derek was champion 35 years ago, when he competed in the UK in a Derek McMahon Racing Chevron B38.
Double R team chief Anthony Hieatt said: "Conor's a great name to have out there in the Masters this weekend and we're absolutely delighted to be running him alongside Geoff. It's great to be working with Conor - we've known about him a long time and almost did a deal a couple of years ago."
The agreement to race at the Dutch circuit completes a busy week for Daly, who finished on the podium in last Sunday's GP3 race at Silverstone, then completed straight-line testing for the Force India Formula 1 team at Duxford yesterday (Thursday) before heading immediately to Double R's Woking base for a seat-fitting and on to Zandvoort, where free practice starts today.
