Raffaelle Marciello takes Formula 3 win in Norisring thunder as Felix Serralles claims British honours

Raffaele Marciello won the final of the three Formula 3 races at the Norisring, which took place in a thunderstorm and was red-flagged at half-distance, and for which only half Euro Series points will be awarded.
Marciello, the FIA European F3 Championship leader, dived down the inside of poleman Pascal Wehrlein (Mucke) when the field was released after a safety-car start. Wehrlein was then harpooned by Carlin's William Buller, forcing the German out. While Buller continued with front-wing damage, he was forced to pit for repairs and then required to serve a drive-through penalty, so finished a lap down.
Daniel Juncadella snuck into second at the first corner and the F3 Euro Series leader chased Marciello through what amounted to just eight laps of green-flag racing to give the Prema Powerteam Dallara-Mercedes squad a one-two.
"It was a strange race," said Marciello. "There was a lot of rain but the car was good - that was proved by me and Dani being very fast."
Spaniard Juncadella, meanwhile, saluted his Italian team-mate's performance but pledged: "He wins here, but Spain win the football tonight!"
Felix Serralles made up great ground in the opening-lap chaos to move into third place, and the Fortec Motorsport Dallara-Mercedes driver kept the Prema cars in sight to take the honours in the British F3 classification - for which full points were awarded.
"There was a lot of standing water and it was quite dangerous," said Serralles. "I started to catch Juncadella but he was too far away, and even if I caught him I wouldn't have tried too hard to pass and make any stupid mistakes, because points in the British championship are important."
With championship leader Jack Harvey and second man Jazeman Jaafar again coming to grief in their Carlin Dallara-Volkswagens, that pushes Serralles right into title contention. Harvey ran into the back of Sven Muller and crashed as soon as the race went green; Jaafar ran over Buller's discarded front wing on the following lap and bent his pushrod.
Emil Bernstorff made up for crashing out of Saturday's reversed-grid race to take fourth in his Ma-Con Motorsport Dallara-VW. Next up were Fortec's Hannes van Asseldonk and Carlin's Pietro Fantin, and they completed the podium for British F3. Fantin escaped a brush with Fortec driver Pipo Derani, who he inadvertently sideswiped into the wall when he got out of shape.
Alex Lynn (Fortec) and Harry Tincknell (Carlin), the last duo in the top 10 overall, completed the top five in British F3.
There was misery yet again for Carlin's Carlos Sainz Jr, who finished a lap down after pitting for repairs when he collected Derani while trying to lap the Brazilian, who had rejoined after his own pitstop in the wake of the Fantin collision.
The race went under the safety car again for the stranded cars of Geoff Uhrhane (Double R) and Philip Ellis (GU) to be collected, and was finally halted as conditions worsened.
Spike Goddard completed a hat-trick of British F3 National Class wins in his T-Sport Dallara.
