Rio Haryanto has been given a five-place grid penalty for the next GP2 race at Silverstone following his collision with James Calado while the duo fought for the lead of Sunday's sprint race in Valencia.
The Carlin driver hit Calado at the chicane as he tried to go down the inside of the ART machine. The Indonesian was forced to retire after clattering over the kerbs and then also hitting the wall.
The stewards found Haryanto was at fault for the incident, and though he retired from the race on the spot and Calado continued to finish second, Haryanto was handed the grid penalty for Silverstone in retrospect.
