Quaife-Hobbs fastest in second practice for Auto GP round at Algarve

Adrian Quaife-Hobbs Championship leader Adrian Quaife-Hobbs set the fastest time in Auto GP's second free practice session at the Autodromo Algarve.

The Briton posted a time of 1m33.095s that was just 0.011s faster than Super Nova team-mate Victor Guerin in a session twice interrupted by red flags.

The second stoppage, caused when Facu Regalia's Campos Racing Lola came to a halt at Turn 6, denied Quaife-Hobbs' rivals from challenging his position in the final minute of the half hour session.

Brazilian Guerin was the only leading runner to use a set of new Kumho tyres.

Slowed by brake balance and electrical problems on Thursday, Sergio Campana's Portimao weekend continued to gather momentum. The MLR 71 racer repeated his FP1 position of third, set on new tyres owing to his limited Thursday running.

FP1 pacesetter Pal Varhaug took fourth for Vurtuosi UK. Manor MP Motorsport's Daniel de Jong was fifth, 0.017s ahead of Valencia winner Sergey Sirotkin (Euronova Racing).

Lazarus GP2 driver Giancarlo Serenelli brought out the first red flag when his Ombra Racing machine encountered technical trouble at Turn 5 a third of the way into the session.
