Renault team boss Flavio Briatore married Elisabetta Gregoraci on Saturday in a lavish ceremony attended by a host of celebrities.
The wedding, serenaded by pop group Duran Duran, included famous guests such as Fernando Alonso, Bernie Ecclestone, Jean Todt, England's football coach Fabio Capello, Italy's former World Cup coach Marcello Lippi, Italy's Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, and Spain's former Prime Minister Jose Maria Aznar.
In an event dubbed the "wedding of the year" by the Italian press, 58-year-old Briatore married Gregoraci, 28, in the Santo Spirito in Sassia church, near the Vatican.
"I'm as excited as if a grand prix race was starting," Briatore was quoted as saying.
After the ceremony, Alonso drove the newlyweds to the reception at the Castello di Torcrescenza.
Italian media estimated the wedding to have cost two million euros.
